I reviewed the site datehookup.com. The first thing I noticed is that it says its 100% free. So, the only way to verify this is to make a profile for myself, and check it out. So I did. Besides seeing that the site claims to be free. I notice that the page looks kind of boring. Nothing to make me want to join if I was looking for a singles site. I also notice, it says that it is one of the top dating sites on the web, however, I have never heard of it before. I doubt that it has anywhere near the amount of members that other popular dating sites such as match.com or eharmony.com has. I still proceed to enter my information and make a profile.
The sign up is simple enough: Choose username, choose password, your email, zip code, what you are (male or female) and what your looking for (male or female). Next page is basic info about yourself, what you like, what you dont like, describe yourself, etc... Next is submitting a picture. No nudity allowed, which I think is great. This is like Plenty of Fish .com I hate it when you get a message from someone and you look at the picture and its a nude one. Its so disgusting! Do guys really think females like that?
The next page is your profile at a glance. You also have the chance to input some more information.
I notice that the site has ads on it. More so than I think the other more popular dating sites have. The ads are probably why the site is free. They pay what the users would normally pay.
On this site, you can do what I consider standard; Send and recieve winks, gifts, messages, go to forums/chat rooms, etc. Everything is pretty much instant as far as I can see. I received a message, I replied, and since the other person was online too, I got the message right away. I can say that much.
I think the pro is obvious: Free.
Cons are obvious too: Ads.
I cannot comment on whether or not the people here are genuine or shady, but I guess the only way to find out would be to find out for yourself and go to the site. Again, the site is www.datehookup.com
